RIVERSIDE WEDDING MARQUEE
WEDDING MARQUEE FOR IDYLLIC SETTING
A bespoke wedding marquee for an outdoor ceremony and reception set in the idyllic grounds of The Old Swan and Minster Hotel in the Cotswolds. The guests’ enjoyment was a high priority with a brief for a marquee that could cater for dining and dancing.
Whilst every event is completely bespoke, this section aims to outline how we interpret a brief, the equipment we suggest and a guide to the costs. We try to be clear about what we provided and what was supplied by the client, party planner or other contractors.
£6 to £10k
Our clients wanted to set the scene for a traditional country wedding in the romantic riverside grounds and wildflower meadows of The Old Swan & Minster Mill Hotel in the Cotswolds. The marquee layout required space for 80 guests who would be dining and dancing the evening away. Also required were chairs for the outdoor ceremony near the “Garden Temple”.
Because of it’s location in the grounds, the marquee also needed independent power from a generator and a catering area.
The marquee was built on the riverside gardens, over the bridge, adjacent to the hotel.
The interior had ivory pleated roof and wall lining, matting flooring with a clear gable behind the top table for plenty of natural light. A beautiful fairy light canopy added a gentle sparkle throughout the marquee.
The wedding ceremony took place outside at the “Garden Temple” with the wedding marquee conveniently positioned adjacent.
The marquee was 9m x 30m and took only a day to build.
Whilst the stunning riverside location provided a wonderful setting for the wedding, it also set a particular challenge for the build. In order for our lorries to reach the marquee site each evening, the The ford/river has a dam which requires the “Archimedes Screws” to be turned off the night prior to lower the water levels enough so that our lorries can reach the marquee site.
We liaised directly with the client to co-ordinate and achieve their bespoke wedding marquee with support and advice from the on-site Events Team at the Hotel.
